Cabbage Noodle Lasagna


We skipped the noodles in the recipe and it was delicious. 
I will try to give you the exact amount of ingredients, however we really did just wing this one. 

 

Ingredients:
1 head of cabbage
3 cans of tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce (Low sugar)
1.5 lb of lean ground beef
1 onion chopped
2 clovesgarlic
Tub of ricotta cheese
Tub of cottage cheese 
1 cup Parmesan cheese
Shredded mozzarella 
1tbs Italian seasoning and oregano
salt
1 egg



Start by washing and separating cabbage , In a large pot boil water with about a tsp of salt. Add cabbage and boil for about 10 minutes.


I removed the cabbage and placed on paper towel to remove excess water.

Brown your hamburger in a large frying pan.

And once browned add chopped onions and garlic.

Cook until onions are translucent, then add tomato sauce , Italian seasoning and oregano. Let simmer. 


In a medium bowl mix Ricotta , Cottage cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan , one egg and 1/4 tsp of Italian seasoning. I used the whole tub or both.



Now we put it all together. Start with a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the lasagna pan.

Add first layer of cabbage

Then cheese mixture

Sauce 

And repeat, Cabbage, Cheese mixture, Sauce. After layers are complete cover with Shredded Mozzarella and sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese


Bake in oven at 350 for one hour

Let lasagna sit for 15 minutes before serving. 


The lasagna was a little watery when served, but the taste was amazing and the next day it was perfect.
